Personalized Estate Planning

Figuring out how to balance your estate plan to best serve your family, avoid taxes and benefit charity can be daunting. The Foundation can help.

The Foundation has helped many donors meet their immediate charitable giving needs, and served nonprofit organizations through endowment building, grants and programming. We believe there is more we can do. The intergenerational transfer of wealth happening in our country, our state and locally presents both unique challenges and opportunities. Coupled with tax implications on estates and retirement funds, donors face challenges in planning for the future. We recognize that we can be a resource to assist in that planning process.

The Greater Salina Community Foundation has contracted with Mr. John Griffin of Stewardship Counseling, LLC to provide comprehensive guidance to individuals and couples who want to establish or update estate plans that minimize gift, income and estate taxes. As an affiliate of GSCF, this is a free service available to OCCF donors. Appointments are limited. For more information, contact Greater Salina Community Foundation Executive Director, Betsy Wearing, at (785) 823-1800.

March is Match Month!

Ottawa County could earn an additional $50,000 for charitable grants in the community through a county-wide gift matching campaign. In March, the Dane G. That means, $10 turns into $25, $500 turns into $1,250 and $1,000 turns into $2,500. If the $50,000 goal is met this year, the Ottawa County community will gain a total of $125,000! The community foundation will host a Match Month social event on Saturday, March 23, at the Blue Moon.[...]
