Ottawa County Community Foundation awards $38,000 in fall grants

MINNEAPOLIS, Kan.— During its fall grant cycle, the Ottawa County Community Foundation awarded $38,000 to three projects throughout Ottawa County. The following organizations received funding:

  • USD 239, $27,600 to purchase material and supplies needed to open a student-led coffee shop.
  • VFW Post 3201, $8,900 to complete the restoration of the VFW Auxiliary main meeting room.
  • Minneapolis Recreation Commission, $1,500 to purchase the equipment needed to play indoor pickleball.

This round of grants was made possible by three funds at the community foundation: the Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund and Ottawa County Impact Fund, which both focus on improving quality of life throughout the county, and the Kansas Health Foundation Fund, which supports public health in Ottawa County. The foundation’s next grant cycle opens February 1, with online applications due April 1, 2021. For more information, visit www.ottawacountycf.org/search-apply-for-a-grant.
