Community foundation accepting fall grant applications MINNEAPOLIS, Kan.—The Ottawa County Community Foundation is accepting applications for fall grants. Online applications open August 1 and are due October 1, 2020. Recently, with a grant funded by the Ottawa County Community Foundation, the Minneapolis Recreation Commission was able to undergo a massive renovation of Rupert Baseball Field. The $22,800 of grant money funded a new scoreboard and controller, secured a schematic to adjust the existing lights, as well as equipment and labor to clean the existing lighting, and secured parts and labor to install backup extension. Zachary PerryTrevor HaleyColby Nichols Community foundation announces scholarship recipients MINNEAPOLIS, Kan.— The Ottawa County Community Foundation has awarded over $12,000 in scholarships to area students for the upcoming academic year. The John and Olive L. Cornellisson Scholarship. This scholarship is for graduating seniors of a USD 239 or USD 240 high school who are pursuing further education in the areas of agriculture or vocational training. Colby Nichols, Minneapolis, received a $3,028 scholarship, Trevor Haley, Delphos, received a $4,000 scholarship, and Zach Perry, Tescott, received a $5,000 scholarship.
