Minneapolis FCA
Minneapolis Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is focused on sharing Christ's love with junior and senior high students in the area. Over 80 students attend, meeting twice a month during the school year. Typically a meeting will include a meal, donated by churches, moms, or organizations, followed by a game, singing led by Firebrand, and a powerful message. Recently, the group wanted to focus on ways to challenge kids to stay hungry in their relationship with Christ.
The Ottawa County Community Foundation awarded the organization a grant to help fund their 2018 program. "Support from this grant enhanced so many aspects of FCA throughout the year," said grantee Jona Freel. Dollars were used to host speaker, Dustin Galyon, provide scholarships for a two day mini-conference, enhance games and prizes, purchase band equipment, support resources and bibles, and continue the spiritual support for teens in the Minneapolis and the surrounding area.
