Ottawa Complex

USD 240

At a Strategic Doing meeting in late March of 2019, it was discussed that after fourth grade, many Ottawa County students leave the community to play baseball and softball in surrounding areas. "This complex was built 25+ years ago, and it was great then, but it has aged over time, and many of the features that we want to add will just make the complex more appealing to additional community members and visiting schools," said grantee Dawn Wolf.

With a grant from the Ottawa County Community Foundation, USD 240 was able to purchase trees and necessary materials for the complex improvement project. The goal of this project was to plant trees for shade; lengthen, enlarge and add covers to the dugouts; paint the existing concession stand; and add six picnic tables. "This grant has made a significant impact in the way that school and community members feel about this area as it is being revitalized and looks cared for," said Wolf
